GlobalFunk presents KENNY KEN (Old School Jungle Set)

Following the success of our \'Old School\' night last year with DJ Zinc we come back with one of the original jungle pioneers and a man who has been part of the the Jungle/Drum and Bass scene for nearly 20 years now. The one and only KENNY KEN (AWOL).
Kenny Ken started DJing back in 1989 and got into playing music by going to the early warehouse parties like, Genesis, Sunrise, Biology, Energy and so on. He used to go to all the so called incrowd parties where DJs like Grooverider,Fabio,Frankie Valentine,Tony Wilson,Paul Oakenfold,Bones and Carl Cox used to play.
By 92 early 93 he was playing all over the place, World Dance, Telepathy, Cryptonite, Rave@the Cave, Helter Skelter, Pirate Club, the list goes on.....
Then came AWOL which as far he is concerened were the best parties and have never been matched by anyone up to this day. He played at AWOL week in week out only being absent when he had to go abroad. The AWOL era was a big part of his DJing. Kenny was also the first jungle DJ bring the music to Toronto Canada along with MCGQ and in 1994 won the Jungle Soundclash at the infamous Roller Express.
AWOL finished at the legendary Paradise Club in early 96 then in 97 he started Mix and Blen recordings which was a brand new direction for a guy who pretty much was a DJ above everything else. Towards the end of 97 he was then asked to join the team at Londons Kiss FM where he had my own show on rotation with the likes of Andy C, DJ Hype, LTJ Bukem and fellow Jungle legend DJ Randall.
Over the years to date Kenny continues to mix up the styles he plays between classic jungle sets and upfront Drum n bass and continues to rack up the airmiles with shows all over the globe.
Joining this DJ legend is a true vocal master of ceremonies who again has nearly 20 years of experience in the business. The one and only MC Moose. Moose, who\'s distinctive voice and smooth flow can be heard from Fabric to New York and from Womb to Wolverhampton, has the perfect blend of rolling lyrics while knowing when to let the music speak for itself.
On warm up duties will be residents MACH4 and Charl Chaka who will be joined by Liquid S (making his GlobalFunk debut) and MC Ollywood.
Entry is FREE for ladies before 11pm and AED50 afterwards. Guys get in for AED75 all night long.
