Broadway star William Gillette has gathered a group of fellow actors at his grand Connecticut mansion to celebrate Christmas. What begins as a festive evening of champagne and theatrical flair soon takes a sinister turn when a guest is murdered.

Suddenly, everyone is under suspicion.

With a killer among them and tensions rising, Gillette decides to investigate the crime himself, drawing inspiration from Sherlock Holmes, the famous detective he portrays on stage.

Unfortunately, playing a brilliant detective and being one are very different things. As Gillette attempts to uncover the truth, the investigation becomes a comedy of errors, with wild accusations, mistaken identities and surprising developments adding to the confusion.
