It's All Been Done Before at The Junction, Dubai

It's All Been Done Before is a collection of short plays written and directed by Dubai-based playwright, Sanjeev Dixit. Multiple award-winning plays rub shoulders with plays that have traveled to Delhi and LA in addition to performing all over Dubai at The Junction, DUCTAC, Madinat, Emirates Litfest, and the Sikka Art Fair. Known for his experimental modern pieces, Sanjeev's style is marked by a physicality coupled with humor which evokes a classic sense of theatre as a craft and an art form.

About the Plays
The Monkey's Paw - A story of a family whose lives are altered when an old friend brings a strange Talisman into their home.

Flare up at 311 - A couple has a dispute about selling their flat and moving to a more affordable neighborhood.

It's All Been Done Before - A beleaguered writer struggles to finish his script while the characters keep interrupting. 

I Am - Inspired by real events, the play follows the journey of a girl growing up in a traditional society.

The Tragic Queen - A ten-minute musical following two heiresses to a kingdom who must overcome politics and love for the throne.

Janus - A second generation immigrant faces uncomfortable competition from someone 'fresh off the boat'.

Garçon - Three men happen to meet at a café, each waiting for that special someone. But who is she?

Tréteau - An amalgamation of inspirations and ideas, Tréteau is a frenetic distillation of the overarching love of the theatre as an art form shared by playwrights and players alike.

The doors open at 07:00 p.m. and the show kicks off at 07:30 p.m. ensuring you have ample time to settle in.

How to get there:
By car: Al Serkal Avenue is located in the Al Quoz industrial area of Dubai, and it can be easily reached by car. If you're coming from Sheikh Zayed Road, take the Al Manara exit (exit 43) and turn right onto Al Manara Street. Continue straight until you reach the first intersection and turn right onto 8th Street. Keep driving straight until you reach the roundabout, take the second exit, and continue onto 17th Street. You'll find Al Serkal Avenue on your left.  

By public transportation: To reach Al Serkal Avenue by metro, take the Dubai Metro Red Line and get off at the Noor Bank Station. From there, you can take a taxi or a bus to Al Serkal Avenue, which is just a short drive away.  

By taxi: You can also take a taxi to Al Serkal Avenue from anywhere in Dubai. It's a famous destination and most drivers would be familiar with its location.
