A Tale of Two Stars - Daniel Lozakovich and Mikhail Pletnev
Audiences in Dubai are in for a special event on Saturday 12th April 2025, as the 14th InClassica International Music Festival, organised by SAMIT Event Group, presents a concert featuring two of the biggest names in the contemporary music world. Swedish violinist Daniel Lozakovich, an Exclusive Deutsche Grammophon Artist since the age of 15, has won over audiences and critics all over the world in record time, taking victory at the 2016 Vladimir Spivakov International Violin Competition Winner, winning the “Young Artist of the Year 2017” award at the Festival of Nations, and then following this up with no fewer than four critically-lauded recording albums. Making this occasion an even rarer one, he will be joined on the stage of Dubai Opera by the Franz Schubert Filharmonia, who shall be conducted by none other than the living legend of the classical music world, Mikhail Pletnev, a renowned pianist, conductor and composer who has earned widespread acclaim ever since winning the First Prize at the 1978 Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition at the age of 21. Since then, Pletnev’s recordings have earned numerous prizes, including multiple Grammy nominations, a 2005 Grammy Award for his own arrangement of Prokofiev’s Cinderella, and the 1996 Gramophone Award for his critically acclaimed album of Scarlatti’s Sonatas.
