SHARON CORR ST. PATRICK’S DAY CELEBRATION Live at Meydan, Thursday, 17 March 2011

Sharon Corr, the stunning Irish songbird and musician will headline her debut in the UAE at the St Patrick’s Day celebrations with a live show at Meydan on Thursday, 17 March. The multi-talented musician will perform material from her debut solo album Dream of You, including her atmospheric cover of The Korgis’ single, Everybody’s Gotta Learn Sometime and an epic production of Mna na hEireann (Women Of Ireland)as well as a selection of beautifully crafted melodic pop gems written by Sharon herself. She will of course be performing the hits she wrote for The Corr’s like So Young and Radio. Music lovers can also expect Sharon to delight us with a selection of traditional Irish pieces in honour of St Patrick’s Day, including the fantastic Toss The Feathers.

Speaking of her imminent visit, Sharon said, “I can’t wait to play my first ever concert in Dubai for the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations - and remember, you don't have to be Irish to celebrate Paddy's Day. See you on March 17 at Meydan! Slainte!”

The talented violinist, pianist, and vocalist will showcase her enviable talents (recognised in 2005 with an MBE from Queen Elizabeth II) at the stunning Meydan outdoor venue. The performance will be Meydan’s first stand alone concert, not held in conjunction with a race meet. Previously Meydan has played host to Sting, Elton John, Santana and recently Tinchy Stryder, Sander van Doorn and Eddie Halliwell, in performances following the races.

Support act Declan O’Sullivan, ‘The Paddyman’ as he’s popularly known, will provide the ‘craic’ with folk songs, classic ballads, cheeky leprechaun humour and entertainment from 8pm, while a live DJ set will keep the celebrations going until the bitter end.
