Dubai, UAE, 20 March 2011
Dubai World Cup, the world’s richest race, celebrates its 16th running with a whole day and evening of fun, fashion, entertainment and, of course, world-class racing action at Meydan Racecourse.
Meydan has announced two high profile post-race acts to complete the day’s spectacular programme of racing and social activities. Brit Award winning sensation Jessie J will perform in Dubai for the first time, followed by internationally acclaimed DJ Seb Fontaine who will keep the crowds partying until late.
Rising star singer-songwriter Jessie J‘s distinct vocal style and eclectic mix of musical genres have taken her on a meteoric rise to fame as an international chart topper with debut single “Do it Like a Dude” followed quickly by current single “Price Tag” which won her the Critics’ Choice at the 2011 Brit Awards. An incredible live performer, Jessie J recently became the first artist to appear on the hit TV show Saturday Night Live before even launching her album in the U.S.
One of the best recognised DJs on the international club scene, Seb Fontaine has a loyal following among the Dubai party scene. Having enjoyed numerous high profile and long-standing residencies in top clubs across the U.K., in addition to playing at shows across the globe, DJ Seb Fontaine established himself at the forefront of the house music scene and as one of the world’s best – he is DJ royalty.
The stage will be located in the hugely popular Apron Views area where guests can enjoy the famous Bubble Lounge, Irish Village and trackside views as well as the famous Jaguar Style Stakes. Style-conscious racegoers should register for Jaguar Style Stakes by 4.45pm for the chance to win ‘Best Dressed Lady’, ‘Best Dressed Man’, ‘Best Dressed Couple’ and ‘Best Hat’ in the Jaguar Style Stakes, with incredible prizes to be won.
Gates open 2pm for hospitality and the first race runs at 4.35pm, climaxing with the Dubai World Cup race at 9.35pm and trophy presentation 10.15pm. The evening’s post-race entertainment kicks off with Jessie J performing live in her first visit to the Middle East, followed by the Firework Spectacular at midnight and DJ Seb Fontaine continuing the party until late.
