Event Details:
Koshur Soz Boz 2019 brings 2 renowned artistes from the state of Jammu & Kashmir to perform here in Dubai on 28th Feb , 2019 at Amity University Dubai.
The objective of the organizers is to preserve & promote the declining art form of Kashmiri music among the masses with special focus on youth. This is the third concert that SOZ BOZ team is organizing for the Kashmiri community in Dubai.
Pt. Dhananjay Kaul:
Dhananjay Kaul is a Classical Singer, Performer and Composer. He has composed around 700 songs based on Kashmiri Sufi Poetry, Punjabi Sufi Kalam, Urdu Poetry, Sanskrit, Hindi, Awadhi, Poorbi, etc. He has composed several Bandishes as well.
A highly accomplished singer and composer, Pt Dhananjay has many achievements and to name a few :Award of National Fellowship in the field of Music by the cultural department of HRD Ministry Govt. of India, 1996. Presented 8 hours long vocal recital in The Gurukul of world famous saint Sh. Murari Bapu at Mahua, Gujrat, in October 2004. Recorded 1 hour long Thumri and Ghazal programme for satellite T.V. channel ETV (Urdu).
Pt Dhananjay has performed at numerous events and some of them are :Saptak Sangeet Festival, Ahmedabad January 2006. Kalyani Sangeet Mahaotsava at Delhi in 1995, on stage with great names like pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Hariharan. Yatra festival and Yauva Mahaotsava ,Delhi 1998. Dachi Gam Kashmir for Indian Medical Association, May 2001. Participated in the Festival of India, Germany 1992. The World Music Festival at Leh- Ladakh, August 2004 and has performed Live shows at PAN India as well as International
Mr. Raashid Jehangir:
Mr Jehangir is a popular Kashmiri singer with a command over the various genres of Kashmiri music. He is a Music Graduate from The Institute of Music & Fine Arts, Srinagar University of Kashmir and an “A” grade artiste of All India Radio and Doordarshan since 2008. He has released a number of Kashmiri Music Albums, prominent among them being Firaq, Tanhaa, Hasrat, Intezaar, Gasakh Na Madina and many more.
Raashid Jahangir has also been awarded by a number of cultural and social organizations all over the State of Jammu & Kashmir.
