In doing so, they take the revered text and willfully sabotage it, misinterpret it, find new meanings in it, try to understand it and most of the time make a big mess of it! The clowns take phrases from the play and mix them up with their own particular brand of gibberish. They even edit the text, throw out some important scenes, and make a mess of the order of things as if the pages of the script got mixed up. But through their entire act they succeed in taking the audience on a hilarious, slapstick journey to the very essence of Hamlet, uncover some significant truths and attempt to find a context for the play that is relevant in our own times.
