Salaam Dubai 2016 - Shaan and KK Live In Concert

Continuing on its unbeatable legacy of blockbuster musical events, Oberoi (Middle East) Events is proud to present two of Bollywood’s most sensational singing icons – KK and Shaan – in “Salaam Dubai 2016”. The event brings together for the first time ever, two of India’s most distinctive and prolific performers, in a 4-hour non-stop musical production of their unforgettable hits.

Shaan

With a distinctive sound that ranges from energetic power anthems to romantic ballads, Shaan has one of the most recognizable voices in the Indian music industry. He first broke out into the Indi-pop scene in the early 90s, with hit tracks like Q-Funk, Roop Tera Mastana and Loveology, but it was his private album “Tanha Dil” in 2000 that established Shaan as a “youth icon” and won him the coveted MTV Asia Music Award. After that, Shaan built a portfolio of unforgettable hits, some of the most legendary being “Chand Sifarish”, “Jab Se Tere Naina”, “Behti Hawa Sa” and “Suno Na” – tracks which have won him an array of awards including IIFA, Filmfare, Zee Cine, Star Screen, etc.

This year, Shaan once again ruled the charts as he delivered two super hit tracks, “Aaj Unse Milna Hai” and “Murli Ki Taanon Se”, for the soundtrack of the Sooraj Barjatya/Salman Khan collaboration, “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo”, which had the highest Bollywood opening day collections for 2015.

Shaan has also collaborated with established international acts, like Blue, Michael Learns to Rock, and many others. Being ever so versatile, he is also fondly remembered for hosting hit TV musical shows such as Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Star Voice of India and L’il Champs.

KK

Fondly known as “The Mesmerizer” because of his hypnotic vocals, KK broke onto the music scene in the late 90s with the historic album, Pal, the title track of which won him a prestigious Screen Award. After that, there was no stopping this powerhouse vocalist as he continued to deliver hit after hit, some of the most memorable being “Tadap Tadap”, “Tu Aashiqui Hai”, “Khuda Jaane”, “Alvida”, “Tu Hi Meri Shab Hai”, “Zara Si Dil Mein”, “Yaaron Dosti”, and many others. As one of Bollywood’s most successful playback and pop singers, KK has sung more than 500 Hindi tracks, as well as over 200 in regional languages. More recently, KK delivered the catchy chartbusters, “Tune Maari Entriyaan” from Gunday, “India Waale” from Happy New Year, and is the voice behind today’s Number 1 hit, “Tu Jo Mila” from the Salman Khan blockbuster, Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

Shaan and KK have together delivered the title track of Shah Rukh Khan’s epic franchise “Don”, and for their many achievements over nearly three decades, they can undoubtedly be crowned the “Dons” of Bollywood Music. Dubai awaits with bated breath as this dynamic duo come together for the first time ever to give us a night we will never forget.

Having firmly established their name as the most prolific and esteemed South Asian event production house in the Gulf, this will be the 82nd event in the historic repertoire of Oberoi (Middle East) Events. The recently-staged “Legends in Concert: Celebrating Multi-lingual India” featuring SPB and Chithra was attended by over 5,000 music lovers applauded as one of the Dubai’s most esteemed South Asian events.

A part of the esteemed Dubai Shopping Festival 2016, “Salaam Dubai 2016” will be held at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium, Aviation Club, on Friday, January 15, 2016.
