How far would you go to become the person everyone wants to see?

The Ugly One returns to The Junction for a final weekend following its October 2025 performances. This provocative stage production explores the pressure to meet society's expectations and the unexpected consequences of changing how others see us.

Blending biting humour with uncomfortable questions about personal identity, the story challenges audiences to consider how much of our confidence depends on outside approval. As appearances take centre stage, the boundaries between individuality, acceptance and transformation begin to blur.

Directed by Gillian Rhodes, the production features Audrey Jegu, Keenan McFadzean, Patrick Albrecht and Sadiq Saboowala.

Following seven nominations at the Junction Awards 2026, including a win for Best Set Design, the show makes its final return to the stage.

The Junction is located in Alserkal Avenue.

By car: Al Serkal Avenue is located in the Al Quoz industrial area of Dubai, and it can be easily reached by car. If you're coming from Sheikh Zayed Road, take the Al Manara exit (exit 43) and turn right onto Al Manara Street. Continue straight until you reach the first intersection and turn right onto 8th Street. Keep driving straight until you reach the roundabout, take the second exit, and continue onto 17th Street. You'll find Al Serkal Avenue on your left.

By public transportation: To reach Al Serkal Avenue by metro, take the Dubai Metro Red Line and get off at the Noor Bank Station. From there, you can take a taxi or a bus to Al Serkal Avenue, which is just a short drive away.

By taxi: You can also take a taxi to Al Serkal Avenue from anywhere in Dubai. It's a famous destination and most drivers would be familiar with its location.
