Stéphanie d'Humily de Malanpry, une bourgeoise qui vient de quitter un berger ardéchois, décide de changer de vie en partant s'installer à Paris.

Pour vivre dans son grand appartement elle cherche deux colocataires ; qu'elle va trouver sous les traits de deux autres femmes divorcées : Mary Bybowl, une anglaise un peu délurée qui vient de quitter un homme de plus et Brigitte, la rurale qui divorce aussi.

Ces trois femmes aux caractères et statuts sociaux différents vont traverser cette épreuve en se soutenant mutuellement.

Three divorced women share the same apartment: Stéphanie the high class one, Mary the British one and Brigitte the one from the countryside.
Stephanie, recently single, decides to change her life starting to settle in Paris.

To live in her large apartment she is looking for two roommates; it will be under the guise of two other divorced women: Mary, a little saucy English who just left a man over; and Brigitte, rural divorcing too.
These three women characters and different social statuses go through this ordeal mutually supporting.
