All take on one stage hosted by the one and only Snow Monkey. ******************THE EDGE BAND******************** Formed in 1998 in Pokhara, The Edge came into the Nepali Rock scene with a self titled debut in 2000. The video of the single Mero Aasu from the debut album, witnessed a country wide popularity surge within a week of its official release. This success gave the band a much needed break into the mainstream music industry in Nepal. The album included other hits like Jeewan Mero, Pagal Nabhana, Nachaheko hoina timilai and numerous jams and rehearsals. The new lineup is perhaps the most talented ever. Emerging from a deep hiatus the band cut their second album Vibes with Vajra Records in 2006. The album contains some of the most intelligent originals the band has in its credit till date.Vibes showcases the band’s technical prowess, endurance, and lyrical maturity. thaha chaina, an orchestral arrangement; Shanti ko sandesh, a hard rock with patriotic theme; Kasailai, a steady rock groove; Bhramma, an alternative experiment; ballads, Jiuna lai garo and Duukha diyera; and soothing Prastab and Lekhiyeka shabda demonstrate the cohesion amidst diversity in composition. After the release of the video for Thaha chaina on major television channels, The Edge’s popularity spread far and wide. Since the album release, the band has played some dozen shows in their hometown Pokhara. They have played numerous sold-outs including charities and festivals. Their concerts are popular for a flawless performance and a powerful stage presence. So far, The Edge has received couple of awards and nominations. The song Duukha diyera bagged the best lyrics award at the Pokhara Music Award. The song received critical acclaim for its soulful words. In 2006, following the release of Vibes, The Edge was nominated at the 9th Tuborg Annual Image Awards in the category of Rock Vocal Performance. Although it was only confined to nominations, The Edge has come out of age to demonstrate their ability to deliver beyond anyone’s expectation. He was born and brought up in Thimphu, Bhutan where he started his love for music because his father was a RJ @ BBS in the 90s and he still remembers the days when his father used to take him to the radio station, where he started gaining knowledge. His father was a producer and his mother,a singer...so music is in his blood. His hometown is Kalimpong. The past 14 years has given him name and fame...first of a kind from his clan. He wants to set an example to the world and become one of the top 100 DJ/producer in the world. Recently based in Dubai, he has played in many exclusive clubs around Dubai and Abu Dhabi. He's the first DJ from his clan who has ever played in a formula one racing circuit (F 1) and also a participant in Guinness World Records for “The most DJs to consecutively mix one record each” and the same was achieved by his team World Top DJs (UAE) at The Dubai International Marine Club. He has played in India, spent five years of exclusive gigs and residency in Kathmandu with lots n lots of exclusive gigs in various countries. All these 14 years has made him experienced in live club mixing, crowd reading, track selection, creating vibe and taking the crowd in a roller coaster ride every time. The main thing he says is the connection with the crowd, without which there is no vibe. With all these years of experience as a DJ,the knowledge does really help when he's working in the studio for producing new tracks and remixing. At the moment he is working on serious production and remixes. He also has international DJ students who have gained great knowledge from him.
