Meydan presenting post-race international music event with 'Super Thursday Sounds'Acclaimed international artistes Tinchy Stryder, Sander van Doorn and Eddie Halliwell to close March 3rd race nightMeydan today announced the launch of ‘Super Thursday Sounds’, in conjunction with the annual racing highlight and Dubai World Cup precursor; Super Thursday, bringing world-renowned international artistes to perform at Meydan once again.

The launch of ‘Super Thursday Sounds’ follows the success of 2010’s Super Thursday post-race performance by internationally acclaimed artiste Sting and this year, Tinchy Stryder, Sander van Doorn and Eddie Halliwell will perform a one-hour set each.Doors open at 8.30 pm, with tickets available for sale at AED 225 from Time Out, Virgin Megastore and Box Office stores and online sites. Racing enthusiasts who have purchased tickets to watch the Super Thursday races will be able to upgrade their tickets for access to the concert area for an additional AED 100.

Tinchy Stryder is one of the UK’s most exciting artistes, and has racked up three consecutive top hits – “Take Me Back” featuring Taio Cruz, “Number 1” featuring N-Dubz which debuted at number 1, and topped the UK charts for a whopping three weeks, followed by his second number 1 single “Never Leave You” featuring Amelle from the Sugababes. Tinchy is the first artiste ever to reach number 1 in the official national singles charts with “Number One”. Tinchy has recently launched his major label debut, Catch 22, which went Gold within 2 weeks of release and has just signed a joint venture deal with EMI Publishing alongside Takeover for a joint music publishing company to develop and invest in new talent.

Dutch musical genius Sander van Doorn is currently one of the world’s most essential, influential DJ/Producers in dance music today, having made his debut at number 32 in DJ Mag's Top 100 in 2006, and then rising to number 10 in 2009. He has also won “Best Breakthrough Artist” at WMC’s IDMA and a nomination for “Best Underground Track” with ‘Riff’ and “Best Electro House” DJ at 2009’s Ibiza House Awards. Sander has worked with multi-million selling and multi-award winning band The Killers with his reworking of their single “Spaceman” and on “Peace” from Depeche Mode. Other fantastic collaborations include “Organic” and “What Say” with Marco V, and “Close My Eyes”, the European Top 20 hit with Robbie Williams. One of the most successful and in-demand genre-crossing producers of his generation, Sander’s work has regularly earned him accolades from peers such as Pete Tong, Judge Jules, Tiesto and Carl Cox. He has played at huge music events around the world, including Sensation, Global Gathering, Trance Energy and Mysteryland.


International superstar DJ Eddie Halliwell needs no introduction, recently named as one of the “New Superstar DJ’s” by Mixmag and nominated in its “Greatest DJ Of All Time” poll, Eddie has reached millions of listeners with his own BBC Radio ONE show from 2003 – 2008 along with seven essential mixes. Eddie now broadcasts to millions of listeners worldwide with his new syndicated radio show FIRE IT UP RADIO. Eddie’s own concept ED-IT (Eddie DJing with Integrated New Technology) launched in August 2009, made him the must-see DJ of the weekend at Creamfields Festival. He has also collaborated with super-brand Cream to release a much-anticipated Ibiza compilation and his very own iPhone App.
