Lette is a brilliant engineer with a good job and a happy marriage, and is all set to present his latest patented invention at the most popular conference in his field. But then his boss, business minded Scheffler, drops the bomb: Lette is, in fact, extremely ugly, so much that no one - maybe not even his wife - can bear to look at him. The job of presenting the invention will go to his younger assistant, Karlmann. The play follows Lette's journey to become someone that no one can overlook again...but lead to consequences nobody could have predicted.

The Ugly One returns to the Junction after a successful run in October 2025 for one final weekend. Starring Audrey Jegu, Keenan McFadzean, Patrick Albrecht, and Sadiq Saboowala, and directed by Gillian Rhodes, The Ugly One was nominated in seven categories at the Junction Awards 2026 and won Best Set Design.

By car: Al Serkal Avenue is located in the Al Quoz industrial area of Dubai, and it can be easily reached by car. If you're coming from Sheikh Zayed Road, take the Al Manara exit (exit 43) and turn right onto Al Manara Street. Continue straight until you reach the first intersection and turn right onto 8th Street. Keep driving straight until you reach the roundabout, take the second exit, and continue onto 17th Street. You'll find Al Serkal Avenue on your left.

By public transportation: To reach Al Serkal Avenue by metro, take the Dubai Metro Red Line and get off at the Noor Bank Station. From there, you can take a taxi or a bus to Al Serkal Avenue, which is just a short drive away.

By taxi: You can also take a taxi to Al Serkal Avenue from anywhere in Dubai. It's a famous destination and most drivers would be familiar with its location.
