Discover the enchanting art of Ikebana, a traditional Japanese flower arrangement technique that not only allows you to create beautiful compositions but also helps minimize your ecological footprint.

Join us at the Zero Waste Ikebana Workshop, where you will delve into the captivating realm of Ikebana, focusing on its essence rather than mere aesthetics. Uncover the significance behind every line and shape in this unique art form.

Under the expert guidance of our certified Master, you will embark on a two-hour journey, starting with the fundamental principles of flower arrangement and delving into the profound philosophy that accompanies each and every blossom.

In a bid to promote sustainability, we will repurpose plastic bottles contributed by TODA guests for the masterclass, transforming them into authentic works of art. Witness how ordinary materials can be transformed into extraordinary creations.


Facilitators:

Sumire Do San — a certified Ikebana master. Sumire has over 27 years of experience in both the classic Ohara and modern Sogetsu Ikebana Schools. She is also working on opening the very first Ikebana Gallery in the Metaverse.

Eri Harigai — digital artist. Eri’s digital creations fuses East Asian and Western aesthetics, serving as a reflection of her unique cross-cultural identity.

How to get there
By car: Take Sheikh Zayed Road (E11) towards Dubai and exit at interchange 5. Merge onto Umm Suqeim Road (D63) and follow the signs to Souk Madinat Jumeirah. Once inside the Madinat Jumeirah complex, follow the internal roads to the parking areas near the souk.  

By public transportation: Take the Dubai Metro to the Mall of the Emirates station. From there, you can take a taxi or use a ride-sharing service for a short distance to the entrance of Souk Madinat Jumeirah.  

By taxi: You can also take a taxi or request a ride-hailing service to Madinat Jumeirah complex, from anywhere in Dubai. It is a famous destination and most drivers will be familiar with the location.
