Georgian National Ballet Sukhishvili at Zabeel Theatre in Dubai

Sukhishvili Georgian National Dance Company, often named “The Flying Georgians”, is returning to Dubai after their triumphant performance in January 2021 at Dubai Opera.  

Founded in 1945 by legendary Iliko Sukhishvili and Nino Ramishvili in Tbilisi, Sukhishvili was the first professional state dance company in the Soviet Union. Since its establishment, the company has performed in 98 countries with full houses in the Albert Hall, the Coliseum, New York’s Metropolitan Opera House, and Madison Square Garden. With more than 300 tours and 20,000 performances, the ensemble has entertained 90 million people and put Georgian folk dance on the world map.  

In 2021 Sukhishvili performed in Dubai for the first time. This is a wonderful place and we love to watch how it grows, develops, and achieves tremendous success said Nino Sukhishvili, the group’s art director and granddaughter of its founders.
