It also reached the top 20 in the HMV album charts, a remarkable achievement for a young singer operating in a supposedly 'niche' area on an independent label (2point9 records). Although he had always been into traditional Punjabi music, it was only when Juggy was introduced to producer Rishi Rich in 2002 that he started to experiment with more Western R&B and hip-hop sounds. Rishi recognized Juggy's enormous potential straight away and decided to feature him on the track 'Nahin Jeena'. The tune was massive, lodging itself at number 1 in the Asian Charts for nearly 6 months.Since then Juggy D has made steady progress towards his fully-fledged solo career, making initial inroads into the mainstream music industry. On joining Rishi Rich's 2Point9 stable he featured on tracks by the likes of Britney Spears, Ricky Martin, Craig David and Timbaland (even teaching Craig David to sing in Punjabi for his track 'Rise & Fall!). Juggy's collaborations on the huge Rishi Rich Project single 'Dance With You' (which reached number 12 in the UK singles charts in 2003) and Relentless/Virgin artist Jay Sean's top ten anthem of 2004 'Eyes on You' have sealed his place on the radar of the mainstream urban crowd. His success isn't limited to the UK either. His album has already shipped platinum in India, and entered the top 5 Indian language chart on its release in April. In 2004 Juggy performed live at the MTV Asia awards in Mumbai, an event that was televised and watched by 165 million people throughout the Asian sub-continent.
