And we're taking things in a different direction as we celebrate the more electronic side of our sound, concentrating on the Indie/Electro and French House scenes. We've run this night on and off for the last 4 years at Alpha, Trilogy and now Casa Latina, and every one has had a great reaction. We've got the mysterious guest DJ Le Jackal on deck duties alongside resident Andy Buchan and we'll be playing a lot of big tracks from these people and record labels from 9pm on September 14…. Raised on a diet of Gitanes, strong filter coffee and Edith Piaf from a young age, mysterious Parisian Le Jackal got his first taste of dance music at the tender age of 15 when unnamed members of Daft Punk visited the Montmartre bordello where he would play Jean-Michel Jarre records to visiting dignitaries in exchange for board and lodging. For Le Jackal, it was a defining moment in his career and began a period entertaining the creme de la creme of French political society and European music royalty. Since then, Le Jackal has mined a similar vein of French house and tropical disco to his erstwhile Parisian electro heroes. He has also developing a keen ear for Brooklyn punk funk, Scandinavian electropop, bands with female synthesiser players and anything with a strong cowbell breakdown. After an unfortunate case of mistaken identity involving Carla Bruni and Charles Aznavour whilst DJing on Johnny Halliday's yacht in Napoleon's hometown of Calvi, Corsica, the Jackal found himself legally unwelcome in his home of mainland France. It was then that he chose to relinquish his former identity and now splits his time between those of the world's glitziest cultural and nightlife centres that can offer a selection of fine cheeses and crucially don't have international extradition treaties.
