From his real name Elie Yaffa, Booba is a French rapper born in Boulogne-Billancourt on December 9, 1976.

Coming from a modest family, Booba grew up in the Hauts-de-Seine. During a trip to his Senegalese family, he meets one of his cousins ​​named Boubacar, and it is in tribute to the latter that Booba will subsequently take his stage name. He met Daddy Ali while still a hip hop dancer. With him, he will set up his first group: Lunatic. While Booba knows his first successes with Ali thanks to titles The Crime Pay and The True, he is incarcerated in 1997 for more than one year for robbery of taxi.

After this dark period, Ali and Booba publish their album Mauvais Œil, which earned them a golden record. While Ali separates from Booba, the Skyrock radio, known for launching rap artists, is seduced by the new song Destinée de Booba, with less dark accents and more R'n'B. The latter still sees his efforts rewarded, and is invited to write the soundtrack of the movie Taxi 3 released in 2003.

Now free from his motions, Booba mounts his own label, Tallac Records, and refuses to be confined to the stereotype of the American rapper, to demonstrate the subtlety of his writing. Several other albums will follow in the years that follow, making Booba a key figure in French rap. With more than one million albums sold, he also won the MyYoutubes contest, beating international artists such as Rihanna and Lady Gaga. On April 13, 2015, his new opus, DUC, arrives in the bins.

On the private side, Booba is the father of a little girl, Luna, born in 2014, from her relationship with Patricia Vinces. On February 28, 2015, the couple welcomed a little boy named Omar.
