Major Lazer play new Halloween Festival
More big news from the 117Live team as they've announced a new Halloween themed party on October 28 that features American dance music group Major Lazer as well as reformed UK girl group All Saints.
Taking place at the Autism Rocks Arena on October 28, the Fiesta De Los Muertos festival will host 'Pon Di Floor' and 'Lean On' superstars Major Lazer for a full live show. Their recent hit 'Lean On' with singer Mo became the most streamed track in Spotify history with over 500 million plays (and counting). Comprised of hit DJ Diplo alongside Walshy Fire and Jillionaire, they've hit on a winning formula that blends dancehall grooves, dance music energy and pop sensibility, becoming one of the biggest radio and festival acts in the world.
They're joined by reformed 90s UK pop group All Saints. Formed in 1993, the all female group had a string of Number 1 hits including 'Never Ever,' Pure Shores' and 'Under The Bridge/Lady Marmalade.' By the time their 2nd album had peaked at the number 2 spot in 1997, they'd become the third best selling girl group of all time in the UK. The band then had their first Number 1 album in 2000 with Saints & Sinners, before controversially splitting the following year. Reformed since 2014, the four piece have now sold more than 12 million records, and will be playing all their classic tracks at the new Halloween festival.
Local support comes from UAE house/electro duo Hollaphonic who'll be dropping a live DJ and MC show to close the festival, while The Mariachis are a fun loving covers band who put a Mexican twist on classics like the Human League's 'Don't You Want Me.'
The action packed line up all takes place on October 28 at the Autism Rocks Arena out near Dubai Outlet Mall.
