Remembering Faiz

Poetic Strokes in collaboration with South Asia Institute Harvard University ​brings Remembering Faiz; an evening celebrating the birth of this great poet from the subcontinent. An ode, a salute to a man, who loved, lost, struggled, fought and survived at different times in his life - all captured in words that still resonates across man-made divisions.

Faiz Ahmed Faiz, was and is, undoubtedly beyond an era.


To commemorate this spirit and occasion, February 23rd will be marked by the presence of Adeel Hashmi reciting the works of the great poet of peace while accompanied by Asad Anees on piano, and later Sonam Kalra on vocals with her musical renditions of Faiz’s works.


This is an annual event in the making, brought to Dubai​ as part of the “Sounds of the Soil” program by Poetic Strokes.
