Desert Flower 2017

The Junction and Sucheta Phule present the first edition of Desert Flower short film festival on the 9th of September. This festival would have five short films specially curated by Sucheta Phule for this festival. It showcases the talent of UAE. The film makers and actors of the selected films would be participating in a panel discussion with Sucheta Phule after the screenings.

The films to be screened are
'Lemonade', 'Clean job', 'Slow death', 'A man tries to get back' and 'Pink'. Different genres and subjects make the ensemble very interesting and diverse. The spectrum ranges from woman-centric topic to autism awareness theme, thriller to existential angst to the quest for inner peace. Lot of these films have done the film festival rounds globally too. It is indeed going to be a treat for Dubai audience to actually see and applaud the home grown talent.

Sucheta Phule, an award winning film maker and writer, has been active in creating meaningful content across various media. Having mentored short film projects, she understands the challenges and scope of short films. She has served as a jury at Indian film festivals and also curates films for film festivals. She is a guest faculty at the University of Mumbai. She is currently reviving her film maker father's film magazine in a digital format.

Desert Flower short film festival will take place at the Junction, Al serkal avenue, Dubai on 9th Sept. 0630pm. Tickets are priced at 50 AED.
