Happy New Year to all BASSWORX cru! :) We’re kicking off 2015 with Radio 1Xtra, Ministry of Sound and Metalheadz legend DJ BAILEY on FRIDAY 16th JANUARY at CASA LATINA… A major part of DnB and Jungle folklore, this is going to be a massive night. BAILEY is joined by MACH4 (Globalfunk), CRUZ (Debut) and WOODLE, ESPACE & JAB (BASSWORX Residents) for an evening of upfront DRUM & BASS and JUNGLE pressure! ********************************************************** Meet our headline act... BAILEY (BBC RADIO 1XTRA / MINISTRY OF SOUND/ METALHEADZ / C.I.A / SERATO) Bailey is a SERATO Icon, resident DJ for METALHEADZ and former presenter for BBC RADIO 1Xtra, BBC RADIO 1 and MINISTRY OF SOUND. He’s recorded tracks for many artists including GOLDIE, RONI SIZE, A GUY CALLED GERALD, NAS & DAMIAN MARLEY. Bailey’s DJ career started after a chance meeting with KEMISTRY & STORM when they tuned into a 1995 pirate radio show, and recruited him for GOLDIE’S legendary METALHEADZ nights at the BLUE NOTE. To this day, BAILEY remains a METALHEADZ resident DJ. He also plays FABIO’S long standing weekly club night SWERVE and tours the world as a guest with other established Drum & Bass outfits. Always an alchemist in the mix, he is one of a handful of successful DJs to gain fame almost entirely for his mixing and presenting skills. In 2002 BAILEY was selected to present his weekly radio show on BBC RADIO 1XTRA running for 10 years; broadcast world-wide each and every Wednesday from 10pm as well as a shared slot on BBC RADIO 1. The show has won many awards including Best Radio Show at the KNOWLEDGE D&B AWARDS, and Best Radio Station at THE NATIONAL DRUM & BASS AWARDS. In 2013 BAILEY started a new weekly show on MINISTRY OF SOUND RADIO presenting live every Tuesday. BAILEY’S first steps into the world of production were a timely mistake! Having requested a tune from the FULL CYCLE crew, instead of the track, he received a CD of samples to make a remix, and gave it a shot. The result, a rework of RONI SIZE’S Forget Me Knots was immediately signed to the label. To date, Bailey has produced tracks for many labels including METALHEADZ, C.I.A, and A Guy Called Gerald’s imprint PROTECHSCHON, as well as remixes for artists such as NAS & DAMIAN MARLEY, and CHIPMUNK. Host and MC JD ODYSSEY will be on mic duties throughout the night.
