Experience a bold celebration of contemporary theatre with La Lezione di Teatro / The Acting Class, Fly, You Fools!, and Hold On To Your Butts, three inventive productions presented across 24 and 25 January, offering a dynamic programme of performance, parody, and physical storytelling.

La Lezione di Teatro / The Acting Class is staged on 24 January at 10:30 am and 25 January at 1:30 pm, delivering a playful and expressive exploration of language, communication, and theatrical tradition.

Fly, You Fools! takes the stage on 24 January at 7:30 pm and 25 January at 3:00 pm, bringing a fast-paced, live parody filled with physical comedy, inventive staging, and live Foley performance.

Hold On To Your Butts runs on 24 January at 3:00 pm and 25 January at 7:30 pm, offering a high-energy theatrical experience that blends humour, movement, and sound in a wildly inventive stage production.

Together, these three productions invite audiences to experience the versatility and creativity of modern theatre across two engaging days of live performance.

LA LEZIONE DI TEATRO / THE ACTING CLASS:

A show set along the lines of the tradition of the comedy of errors: an Italian actress receives a student in her apartment for a private theater lesson; he is eager to learn the tricks of the trade and she is thrilled at the idea of making him fall in love with Italian theatre; she sits him down and searches through her library, preparing the ideal Theater Course for him!

The lesson seems to be going well until we realize that there is a small language problem... communication breaks down until the universal language of the masks of Commedia dell'Arte comes to the rescue! Set partly in English and partly in Italian - without subtitles - this show ironically demolishes preconceived notions of the difficulty of the theatre language and highlights how communication problems can be solved with theatrical body work; entertaining an audience that speaks or study Italian, English, or both … or none!

Three actors and a Foley artist band together – in fellowship – to bring you a live, shot-for-shot parody of the most epic fantasy film of all time. A jaw-dropping blend of comedy, physical theatre, and live Foley, proving that even the smallest of acting ensembles can change the course of the future.

Following its critically acclaimed runs in NYC and the West End, the smash hit comes to Dubai!

Two actors and a Foley artist perform a live, shot-for-shot parody of the greatest dinosaur film of all time. A wildly inventive tour-de-force of comedy, physical theatre and live Foley.

On these dates, Alserkal Avenue will host the Quoz Arts Festival. Entry to the Avenue requires a separate festival ticket, which must be purchased in advance (details below).

Plan accordingly to enjoy both events!

By car: Al Serkal Avenue is located in the Al Quoz industrial area of Dubai, and it can be easily reached by car. If you're coming from Sheikh Zayed Road, take the Al Manara exit (exit 43) and turn right onto Al Manara Street. Continue straight until you reach the first intersection and turn right onto 8th Street. Keep driving straight until you reach the roundabout, take the second exit, and continue onto 17th Street. You'll find Al Serkal Avenue on your left.

By public transportation: To reach Al Serkal Avenue by metro, take the Dubai Metro Red Line and get off at the Noor Bank Station. From there, you can take a taxi or a bus to Al Serkal Avenue, which is just a short drive away.

By taxi: You can also take a taxi to Al Serkal Avenue from anywhere in Dubai. It's a famous destination and most drivers would be familiar with its location.
