iLL Communications Presents :: TROY PIERCE (Minus, Berlin)

Dubai – 18 May 2010 – iLL Communications continues at The Madinat Jumeirah, but is now moving downstairs to the main club area. In addition to this special occasion on Thursday, May 27th, OHM events will be simultaneously celebrating their seventh birth-day. Thats right, seven years in music and events in Dubai. The infamous TROY PIERCE from the world renowned label Minus will be doing a live set, and to top it off, an exciting    opening set from our dear friend PIERRE RAVAN.

Below The Rooftop is a gorgeous venue at The Madinat Jumeirah with the capacity of holding 650+ club goers. In the past, the club featured the worlds top house an techno DJs entertained thousands over a span of 3 years. It is now re-opening and ready to live up to its previous reputation as the best club in Dubai. Funktion One sound system, massive dancefloor, state of the art audio and and visual set up, beautiful high ceilings, and an    incredible team of promoters, when the Rooftop moves downstairs it will be “The Place To be” from May 27th onwards.

To warm things up for the evening we welcome Pierre Ravan, spiritual house DJ who is very well known in this part of the world. Having been on the International DJ circuit now for well over a decade, Pierre is a well  respected DJ, producer and remixer bringing a new aura to the house music scene as well as a different variety of house music he likes to call “Spiritual House”. This is the perfect inter-fusion of his individual emphatic energy, ancient Persian heritage and a feel for the global dance-floor. He was one of the first DJ/Producer to spread HOUSE MUSIC in the Middle East and to become the Inspiration for all who    followed his path to introduce the quality House music in new Clubs.

Then DJ/Producer Troy Pierce is coming over from Berlin to play a live set. Live set   meaning he will be using his computer, mixer, and equipment to loop and create music   before your eyes. As a DJ, attempts to categorize his style pose more questions than they answer. Minimalism in its purest form is a tag he more freely associates with labels like Consumed - ‘super sparse, difficult and totally out there’. Troy on the other hand, has    developed a dance floor friendly hybrid sound that takes the best from the ‘little        movements and micro trends’ that constantly spring up, helping electronic music to evolve. It retains the mechanical, futuristic sounds of techno but is slower and less abrasive       allowing him to work between the lines, exploit the space between the beats and push out into the third dimension that epitomizes the Minus sound. 

OHM’s 7th birthday will surely be a night to remember.                                            /END
