Benjamin Schmid, a native of Vienna, won among others the 1992 Carl Flesch Competition in London, where he also won the Mozart, Beethoven and Audience Award. Since then, he will be on the major stages of the world with took liable orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic, Philharmonia Orchestra London, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, and more under conductors such as Dohnányi, Zinman, Ozawa, Sondergard, Valery Gergiev or Metzmacher , His soloistic quality, the extraordinary range of his repertoire - in addition to the usual works as well as the violin concertos by Hartmann, Gulda, Korngold, Muthspiel, Szymanowski, Weill, Lutoslawski or Schoenberg - and especially his improvisational skills in jazz make him a violinist with unparalleled profile.

Benjamin Schmid's around 40 CDs have been awarded several times partly with the German Record Prize, Echo Klassik award, Gramophone Editor's Choice or the Strad Selection. He has been a professor at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and given master classes at the University of Bern. For the second time Benjamin Schmid was awarded the 2013 "Prize of the German Record Critics' Award", this time for his recording of the Violin Concerto op.26 by Ermanno Wolf Ferrari with Friedrich Haider and the Oviedo Philharmonic.

The Swiss-born Pianist Ariane Haering started taking lessons at the age of six in her hometown of La Chaux-de-Fonds. Her major impulse for choosing the piano was led by an early wish to accompany her older sister Carole, a talented violinist. She has won many prizes and awards. Her encounter with Bejamin Schmid has been by far the most inspiring and fertile , in more ways than one.
