Benjamin Schmid, a native of Vienna, won among others the 1992 Carl Flesch Competition in London, where he also won the Mozart, Beethoven and Audience Award. The Swiss-born Pianist Ariane Haering started taking lessons at the age of six in her hometown of La Chaux-de-Fonds.
