Belarus State Orchestra Meets Emirati Composers

GALA CONCERT with the Belarus State Chamber Orchestra!
In a very unique appearance under the umbrella of the UAE Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Developement and held in the framework of the First Belarus Culture Days in the UAE, musical geniuses from Belarus and UAE will meet. The 20-strong State Chamber Orchestra of Belarus under the legendary baton of Maestro Evgeny Bushkov will present a performance which will also include the very seldom played Dulcimer concerto from V.Kurian with the unique Alexandra Denisenia and compositions of Hamad Altaee and Ibrahim al Juneibi.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
The State Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus (BSCO) was founded in 1968, under the
name of "Minsk Chamber Orchestra”. The most outstanding artists who have performed with the orchestra just to name a few include pianists Sviatoslav Richter, Paul Badura-Skoda (Austria), Nikolay Petrov, cellists Mstislav Rostropovich and Natalia Gutman; violist Yuri Bashmet just to name a few. At present time, the Music Director and Chief Conductor of the State Chamber Orchestra of Republic Belarus is the Honored Artist of Russia, Evgeny Bushkov.
One of today's most promising conductors, Evgeny Bushkov has received early acclaim as a spectacular violinist. He is a winner of four major international violin competitions - Wieniawski (1986), Queen Elizabeth (1989), Tchaikovsky (1990), and the first Henryk Szeryng Foundation Award (1992).
Hamad Altaee and Ibrahim Al Juneibi are UAE composers well-known in the UAE and abroad and have composed numerous pieces for piano and orchestra.

ABOUT THE EVENTS:
• Concert doors open at 19:00 and close at 19:55.
• The concert starts sharply at 20:00. Latecomers will only be permitted after the intermission.
• Dress code: cocktail / formal.
