A doctor named John Christow is found shot dead by the swimming pool of the property
Le Vallon, where he spent the weekend; his wife Gerda next to the body, a pistol in his
hand ... Hercule Poirot leads the investigation in the field and tries to unravel the case,
which seems to oscillate between simplicity and complexity ... Here is the investigation
that will have to lead Hercule Poirot and Inspector Grange. The evidence of the
departure will be quickly mistreated by the ambiguous and contradictory behaviors of all
the protagonists, destabilizing Poirot, the famous investigator until the final denouement.
