"Conductor of the Year" Prize recipient (The Musical Review) Alexander Sladkovsky leads the Tatarstan State Symphony Orchestra for a unique performance featuring works by Russia's most cherished composer, Sergei Rachmaninoff. The concert begins with Rachmaninoff's iconic and beautifully orchestrated Piano Concerto No. 2. One of the greatest works ever written, performed by Russian star pianist Denis Matsuev, a hugely successful performer who first rose to prominence following his triumph at the 11th International Tchaikovsky Competition in 1998. Following the intermission, the orchestra returns to perform P. Tchaikovsky - Symphony No. 5. This concert is organized by the European Foundation for Support of Culture (EUFSC) in collaboration with SAMIT Event Group and Dubai Opera.
