Действие происходит в наши дни на окраине Тираны - столицы Албании.  

Это не та открыточная Тирана с панорамой снежных шапок в горах, которую можно увидеть в ясный мартовский день с высоты Sky Tower.

И даже не та Тирана, куда редко ступает нога туриста, с непроходимой грязью петляющих улочек и удивительной для глаза европейцев убогостью жилищ.

The action takes place today on the outskirts of Tirana, the capital of Albania.    

This is not the postcard Tirana with a panorama of snow caps in the mountains, which can be seen on a clear March day from the top of the Sky Tower.

And not even that Tirana, where a tourist rarely sets foot, with the impenetrable mud of winding streets and the squalor of housing, surprising to the eyes of Europeans.
