The works of British composer Joanna Marsh will be performed at Dubai Opera for one night only as she launches A Plastic Theatre, her powerful new album exploring humanity's relationship with our natural world.
On March 8th, 2025, International Women's Day, Marsh joins forces with Nabra Chamber Choir and their Musical Director Rob Johnston, a new ensemble bringing together the region's finest voices.
The evening features a selection of her most celebrated choral works including “All Shall Be Well”, winner of the 2022 Ivor Novello Award, her spellbinding “Now I Lay” and her most widely performed work, “In Winter's House”.
Since dividing her time between the UK and Dubai in 2007, Marsh has created landmark works for the region, including the orchestral commission to celebrate the building of the Burj Khalifa.
The Guardian recognises her as "one of today's leading composers for the voice," a praise reinforced by recent commissions from Chanticleer, RIAS Kammerchor, and her BBC Proms appearance in 2023.
Join us for this special night featuring the debut performance by Nabra Chamber Choir, celebrating the richness of MENA vocal talent.
This event is presented by The Fridge.
