SAMIT Event Group’s ‘VIP Classical – Cultural Music Circle’ is proud to present a captivating evening of classical music featuring the inimitable talents of Italian pianist Epifanio Comis and Slovenian clarinetist Darko Brlek, joined by the Sangiorgi String Quartet. The concert is organized under the auspices of the Embassy of Italy to the UAE and the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia to the UAE.
An awardee of the“Sergei Rachmaninov International Award” in 2013, Comis is a renowned soloist and ensemble musician, who has toured extensively across Europe, Asia, and the United States to great acclaim, having performed with a wide variety of world-class orchestras. Also active as a conductor and very much in demand as a professor, he is the principal conductor of the Orchestra Sinfonica of Bellini Conservatorio in Catania, the Director and Artistic Director of the Ljubljana Festival International Piano Competition, and an acclaimed professor at the Vincenzo Bellini State Conservatory in Catania.
Brlek, meanwhile, is internationally recognised as one of Slovenia’s biggest cultural ambassadors, being the President of the Expert Council of the Slovene National Theatre Maribor, as well as the General Director and Artistic Director of the Ljubljana Festival, the country's most important cultural festival. A distinguished concert clarinettist, who has performed with many leading artists and ensembles, he is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Betteth Award, the Župančič Award, and the prestigious state award of the President of the Republic of Slovenia – Order for merits, to mention a few, while also being an honorary member of the European Festivals Association.
Enhancing this unique musical gathering is the Sangiorgi String Quartet, one of Italy’s respected chamber ensembles. Founded by violinist Enzo Ligresti, the Quartet is known for its refined style and artistic integrity, having performed widely across Italy and Europe at renowned festivals and venues.
Together, they will be delighting audiences across Dubai and beyond with a curated selection of some of the most beloved works within the world of classical music.
