Dubai Sound City Launch Party Press Release Ex-Stone Roses legend Ian Brown to launch Dubai Sound City Dubai Sound City, the three-day music festival and conference from November 5 to 7, has announced that Ian Brown will headline their launch party on October 1 at the Madinat Arena. The multi-million selling singer and ex-Stone Roses star will perform alongside his band for the first time in the Middle East. The band came to define the British music scene in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s; today, Arctic Monkeys and Oasis cite Brown and The Stone Roses as key influences. Their eponymous debut album celebrates its twenty year anniversary this year and is still regarded as one of best albums ever made, with both NME and Time magazine listing it in their Top 100 Albums Of All Time. The album listed huge, globe-conquering hits like Fools Gold, I Wanna Be Adored and She Bangs The Drums. The band split soon after their follow-up album, The Second Coming, but not before they had come to epitomise the Madchester sound that was famously played at the Hacienda nightclub. Brown then embarked on a solo career, which saw him scale new heights. To date, he has released five albums – four of which charted in the Top 10 – and 12 Top-40 singles. He has also released a Best Of album, which featured huge hits like F.E.A.R., My Star and Dolphins Were Monkeys. His sixth studio album, My Way, is due for release on September 28, making Dubai his first major concert on the promotional tour. First single from the album will be Stellify, and that is scheduled for release on September 21.
