Learn about the rich cultural and heritage of Dubai with interactive installations and exhibits at one of the most prestigious museums in Dubai, Al Shindagha Museum.

Following our initial notice on the RTA Al Shindagha Corridor Improvement Project, please find updated guidance on drop-off points for easier access to Al Shindagha Museum:

Drop-off Point A: Visitor Centre – recommended for groups visiting Dubai Creek: Birth of a City House and the Perfume House. Existing bus pick-up and drop-off points remain available, with access from Al Falah Street.

Drop-off Point C: Culture of the Sea Pavilion RTA Parking – ideal for access to the Culture of the Sea Pavilion. A dedicated bus pick-up and drop-off points will be available for our partners.

Given the scale of RTA works, we anticipate this arrangement will continue long-term.

Al Shindagha Museum Dress Code: Semi-formal attire. Beachwear, shorts, and flip-flops are not allowed during the tour.
Al Shindagha Museum Age and Health Restrictions:
A visit to Al Shindagha Museum is suitable for people of all ages, including expecting mothers.
Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult aged 16 years or above.
Accessibility: The Al Shindagha Museum is wheelchair accessible.
Traditional experiences and drop-in workshop spaces are subject on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Small backpacks and bags may be brought into the galleries.
Large backpacks must be checked in at the entrance.
The museum reserves the right to inspect any bag or parcel brought into the premises; security guards may be conducting bag checks when you arrive.
Sketching and note-taking is welcome in the museum with dry media (pencil and erasers only). Crayons, markers, wet materials, and ink pens are not allowed in the galleries.
Children age 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Photography is allowed for personal use only. Photography for commercial purposes is prohibited without a prior permit application.

By car: Al Shindagha Museum is located in Fahidi District and is easily accessible by car. You can park your car in the museum’s parking free of cost.

By public transportation: The museum is easily accessible by public transportation. If you are taking the metro, you can get off at Ghubaiba Metro station and access the location within a short walk.

By taxi: You can also take a taxi to the museum from anywhere in Dubai. It’s a popular destination, and most taxi drivers will be familiar with the location.
