Opening Concert with Berlin Symphony Orchestra

On Thursday 1st February 2024, the InClassica International Music Festival, presented by SAMIT Event Group, makes its return to the UAE, as South Korean pianist Yeol Eum Son, a Prize Winner at the 2011 Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition and the 13th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition (2009), arrives in Dubai to headline a special opening concert alongside the Berlin Symphony Orchestra and Norwegian conductor Eivind Gullberg Jensen.

Concert Program:

Opening with Johannes Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 1, the first of a set of 21 lively and energetic works based on Hungarian folk themes, the evening will then continue with Composer-in-Residence Alexey Shor’s 2019 work From My Bookshelf, a suite for piano and orchestra consisting of a series of eight musical portraits inspired by several seminal literary figures. Finally, the orchestra will conclude with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6, also known as the Pathétique Symphony, which marks the legendary composer’s final completed symphony and was premiered by Tchaikovsky himself a mere nine days before he died in 1893.

Where concessions are applicable, valid proof of identity and concession entitlement must be provided for the collection of tickets at the event.
Entry to the event may be subject to age restrictions specified in Dubai Opera’s website www.dubaiopera.com or in publicity for the event, and no refund will be made because the ticket holder was not aware of such age restrictions.
Dubai Opera reserves the right without refund or compensation to refuse admission/evict any person(s) whose conduct is disorderly or inappropriate or who poses a threat to security, or to the enjoyment of the event by others.
The ticket holder agrees to submit to any search for any prohibited items including but not limited to weapons, controlled, dangerous and illegal substances and recording devices.
Patrons arriving late to a performance will only be admitted into the venue at a suitable break. Latecomers may be seated in alternate seat locations to avoid disruption of the performance.
The use of mobile phones, camera and other electronic devised inside the auditorium are prohibited. Exceptions may occur depending on the type of event.
The ticket holder voluntarily assumes all risk and danger incidental to the event whether occurring before, during or after the actual event, including any death, personal injury, loss, damage or liability.
Food & Beverages purchased outside Dubai Opera are not permitted. Food and beverages are strictly prohibited inside the auditorium. This applies before the show, during the show and the intermission. Exceptions may occur depending on the type of event.

By car: If you're coming from Sheikh Zayed Road (E11), take the exit towards Financial Center Road/D71 and follow the signs for Burj Khalifa/Downtown Dubai. Keep right and merge onto Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard. Continue straight until you reach Dubai Opera, which will be on your right.

By public transportation: You can take the Dubai Metro Red Line and get off at the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Station. From there, you can either walk for about 10 minutes to Dubai Opera or take a short taxi ride to reach the venue.

By taxi: You can also take a taxi to Dubai Opera from anywhere in Dubai. If you're coming from downtown, the journey typically takes around 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
