Le Corsaire at Dubai Opera
M Premiere and MuzArts present the Dubai premiere, “Le Corsaire” on 6-7 January 2024 at Dubai Opera. An epic whole-evening ballet in the classic tradition will feature the principal dancers of the Bolshoi: “mesmerizing” prima Ekaterina Krysanova and “the sensational jumper and the rocket” according to international critic, Ivan Vasiliev.
A bright story filled with spicy aromas of the East about true love and the exciting adventures of pirates will be performed by more than 60 artists of Yuri Grigorovich Ballet Theatre.
The Dubai premiere is dedicated to the 97th anniversary of the legendary figure in the world of dance and for many years the chief choreographer of the Bolshoi Ballet Yuri Grigorovich.
The exciting plot, dazzling jumps and dizzying pirouettes, amazing acting, beautiful costumes and scenery take the audience first to the oriental market, then to the sultan's palace and to his wonderful garden, then to the cave of corsairs and, finally, to a ship in the open sea.
A beautiful, light, and colorful ballet about the life of pirates, staged based on the musical works of Adolphe Adam, Léo Delibes, Riccardo Drigo and Cesare Pugni, choreographed by Jules Perrot and Marius Petipa, edited by Yuri Grigorovich.
In this production of “Le Corsaire”, the most spectacular dance scenes of the classic version are preserved: dances of the odalisques, a duet in a grotto, and, finally, the scene Le Jardin animé created by Marius Petipa – one of the most powerful and impressive episodes of the ballet in terms of choreography.
This performance is brought to you by M Premiere and MuzArts.
