This autumn, on 27 November, Hiba Tawaji and Ibrahim Maalouf unite on stage at Dubai Opera for À La Française, a one-night-only performance presented by Live Nation Middle East.
Bringing together two of the most celebrated artists of their generation, the evening unfolds as a distinctive artistic dialogue shaped by French musical heritage and their individual creative voices.
The programme pairs Tawaji’s powerful, emotive vocals with Maalouf’s genre-defying trumpet and compositions, where classical tradition intersects with jazz, chanson, and contemporary sound. The result is an intimate yet expansive collaboration that bridges cultures and musical traditions against the iconic backdrop of Dubai Opera.
A two-time Grammy Award nominee in 2023 and 2024, Ibrahim Maalouf has performed sold-out concerts at Lincoln Center in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and Paris Arena Bercy. Described by Jon Batiste as a “living jazz legend” and praised by The New York Times as a virtuoso, he has released more than twenty albums, composed numerous film scores, earned a César Award and multiple Victoires de la Musique honours, and collaborated with Sting, Wynton Marsalis, J Balvin, A$AP Rocky, and Angélique Kidjo on the album Queen of Sheba.
Since 2008, Hiba Tawaji has been a leading figure in the Arab world. In 2024, she performed under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel with the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra at the reopening of Notre-Dame de Paris. Her collaborations include Andrea Bocelli, Lara Fabian, Florent Pagny, Luis Fonsi, and Pentatonix.
She became the first female artist to perform in Saudi Arabia in 2017, voiced Jasmine in the French version of Disney’s Aladdin, and starred as Esmeralda in Notre Dame de Paris. Singing in Arabic, French, and English, she remains one of the most respected voices of her generation.
Together, Tawaji and Maalouf shape À La Française into a refined and emotionally rich performance that spans cultures and musical traditions, offering Dubai audiences a rare opportunity to experience this collaboration live.
Presented by Live Nation Middle East.
Please note: This concert is a venue hire presented by a third-party promoter (Live Nation) and is not produced or presented by Dubai Opera.
