PETE RIVERA also is the mastermind of studio collective  RIVERA ROTATION and was born in the south of Germany. Growing up in Ulm he was infected by seventies soul and the sound the American Forces Network radio station AFN from his early teens. Since 1985 he is a DJ in his own right playing a variety of styles from latin to house. Being a full-

time Hamburg resident since 1988 and managing director as well musical advisor of everything which happens in and around Lounge club, he organized events with KRUDER & DORFMEISTER, NICOLETTE, JIMI TENOR , DZIHAN & KAMIEN and AIM among many others establishing Lounge club as one of the most successful and stylish hang-outs in Hamburg. Today PETE RIVERA is the resident DJ at MOONDOO in Hamburg.

Following LATINICA WITCH and ON THE BEACH, both entered the top 20 of the German dance charts (DCC, plus YES YOU ARE ... , RIVERA ROTATION just released fourth single DEDICADO. Involving a healthy dose of sunshine, DEDICADO links european cool with brazilian heat. Conceived as a team with sound and studio wizard Elmar Schubert

a.k.a. MINERAL MUSIC (check his moving and grooving rework on the ROTATION’s 12“ YES YOU ARE ...) DEDICADO features the voice of mysterious portuguese visual artist and sculptor OMEGA. Kicking off this vinyl release in and up-to-date style is the timbales and Sherman-crazy rework from Munich’s finest FAUNA FLASH. And of course there the exclusive tracks PETE RIVERA recorded with VINCENZO (NIGHT CRUISIN’) or JÖRN ERKAU and SVEN WAJE (SUNDOWNER) for compilation releases worldwide.

RIVERA’s mix CD series FOR ADULTS ONLY is out in 2 volumes and features RIVERA’s trademark style of mixing house with classic latin music. „The mastermind behind Hamburg’s stylish Lounge club and studio collective Rivera Rotation drops a blistering mix CD. The summer starts here ...!“ wrote British magazine Uncut following the release in

spring 2001.

At the moment PETE is busy with his new project TIMAX. They have been a bit of a mystery over the years. Their tracks appeared on a spectacular amount of compilations since they unleashed their first track FLIGHT OVER RIO in 2003, although they never had an album released on their own. TIMAX is PETE RIVERA together with ROB HARDT (producer extraordinaire of Cool Million, Seductive Souls and many other up-to-date soul sounds). For their debut album COTE D’AZUR they collected all their previous productions and added a bunch of fresh & spicy tracks.

PETE RIVERA is also the compiler of the renowned MUSIC FOR MODERN LIVING series which he conceives together with fellow label-owner MELLOW and plays out his soulful electro-latino DJ-sets all over the world.
